About TroutNearMe

TroutNearMe collects the trout stocking reports that state fish and wildlife agencies publish, every night, and keeps them. Agencies often overwrite or clear their reports between seasons; we keep the history so you can see how each lake and stream is usually stocked.

River flow, gage height and water temperature come from the U.S. Geological Survey's real-time gages. Recent USGS readings are provisional. When the nearest gage sits on a different stream or lake, the page says so.

Stocking dates can change with weather, water conditions and hatchery schedules, and planned dates are the agency's plan, not a promise. Always check the agency's own report and current fishing regulations before you go.
